**Job Description: Cloud Engineer (Azure)**

**About the Role**
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer (Azure) to join a high-performing engineering team that works on modern cloud platforms. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimise Azure-based infrastructure and services that support scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions. You will collaborate closely with global engineering, platform, and DevOps teams in an agile environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud services aligned with business and platform requirements
- Manage and optimise Azure infrastructure with a focus on
**performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency**
- Implement cloud
**security controls and compliance standards**
following best practices
- Work with
**Azure API Management**
and API gateway solutions to design, deploy, and monitor APIs
- Build and manage containerised workloads using
**Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)**
- Implement
**Infrastructure as Code (IaC)**
using Terraform and/or Ansible (REX)
- Support and enhance
**CI/CD pipelines**
and DevOps workflows
- Automate operational tasks using scripting languages such as
**PowerShell, Python, and Shell**
- Monitor cloud environments using observability tools and proactively identify optimisation opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud solutions into the wider IT ecosystem
- Stay up to date with emerging cloud technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
**Required Skills & Experience**
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in a
**Cloud Engineer / Azure Engineer / DevOps**
role
- Strong practical experience with
**Microsoft Azure**
services
- Experience with:
- Azure API Management (APIM)
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Azure Functions and Event Hub
- Solid understanding of
**cloud security, networking concepts, and best practices**
- Hands-on experience with
**Terraform and/or Ansible (REX)**
- Working knowledge of
**CI/CD pipelines**
, version control, and DevOps principles
- Proficiency in
**PowerShell, Python, and Unix/Linux shell scripting**
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile, and global team environment
**Nice to Have**
- Exposure to
**AI/ML platforms or cloud-based AI solutions**
- Experience in large-scale enterprise or regulated environments
- Azure certifications such as:
- Azure DevOps Engineer
- Azure Administrator / Architect (or equivalent)
