**Job Description**
As an
**R&D Mechanical Engineer**
, you will contribute to the
**design, development, and validation**
of
**air-insulated high-voltage disconnectors**
, with a primary focus on the
**structural and mechanical components**
of the product.
You will work closely with R&D Project Managers, supporting both
**new product introduction (NPI)**
and
**cost-out initiatives**
, ensuring robust, optimized, and reliable mechanical solutions.
**Product Development & Validation**
- Support R&D Project Managers in product development and validation activities.
- Produce and manage 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Investigate alternative materials and explore innovative manufacturing technologies.
- Perform mechanical validation of main disconnector components, including calculations and FEM structural analysis.
- Conduct cost analyses and propose manufacturing optimization improvements.
**Testing & Certification:**
- Participate in type test witnessing - both in internal accredited laboratories and external global facilities.
- Prepare test procedures, test instructions, and technical documentation.
- Support the emission of type test dossiers for internal or external stakeholders.
- Perform risk assessments, including FMEA analysis.
**Support to R&D Operations:**
- Contribute to daily coordination of R&D activities in collaboration with the R&D Leader.
- Ensure effective communication with internal teams: R&D, Standardization, Laboratory, Engineering, and Sales.
- Engage with external stakeholders: customers and accredited laboratories.
**PROFILE:**
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in mechanical engineering or within an R&D department.
- Knowledge and practical experience with 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Basic understanding of FEM analysis.
- Good command of English (written and spoken).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and production technologies.
