**The opportunity**
We are looking for a
**Senior Optical Application Engineer**
to join a highly specialised team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in
**optical simulation**
, able to combine technical expertise with customer-facing skills and support the adoption of advanced simulation technologies across industrial applications.
With offices in
**Bergamo, Turin, Florence, and Lecce**
, plus a
**hybrid model with 3 days of remote working per week**

**Key responsibilities**
- Promote and support the adoption of advanced
**simulation solutions**
, with a particular focus on
**optical simulation technologies**
.
- Provide technical expertise during customer meetings and support the sales team in engineering discussions.
- Collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to support product positioning and distribution strategies.
- Monitor customer software usage, offering continuous support and helping clients strengthen their technical capabilities.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor on complex optical and optoelectronic engineering challenges.
**Ideal profile**
- Senior-level experience in
**optical simulation**
and
**optical/optoelectronic engineering**
.
- Strong knowledge of
**Lumerical**
.
- Experience with
**Zemax**
would be highly preferred.
- Familiarity with other
**CAE tools**
would be considered a plus.
- Strong customer focus, with excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach and willingness to share knowledge.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Curious, innovative, and solution-driven mindset.
- Availability to travel mainly within Italy for customer support and client meetings.
- Fluency in
**English**
